AdClub wanted to invite you to our next club meeting about the Cannes Lions Festival and study abroad program on Tuesday (11/5) at 7:30pm in MLC 153. Our guest speaker joining us is John McHale, the Executive Creative Director at SapientNitro. John McHale is a Cannes Lions award winner and travels to the festival annually. He’ll be talking about the extraordinary benefits of attending Cannes Lions as a student. John has befriended our students at the festival, and will share relevant insights. Cannes Lions Study Abroad
Join us this summer in southern France for UGA’s 5th Cannes Lions Study Abroad Program. In summer 2014 we’re offering two upper-level electives built around the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity (http://canneslions-studyabroad.uga.edu/), the world’s premier advertising, public relations and marketing communication event. The courses are offered by the Department of Advertising & Public Relations at University of Georgia. The program runs three weeks at the end of June (Summer I).
Students will be exposed to the best creative and strategic work in the world. Cannes Lions is known for its cutting edge entries from global ad centers in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. During the week-long event, students will have access to workshops run by some of the best account and creative people in the business, and will attend keynote addresses by top agency and marketing CEOs. All creative work is available for student review, and students will have access to major award ceremonies. Beginning in 2009, the festival initiated its PR Lions award, and Mobile and Branded Entertainment awards in 2012. In addition to networking and learning opportunities, the festival will position students with a global perspective in marketing communication. Last year, 41 students participated in the Cannes Lions program.
