Speaker Meeting 4/2: Lucy Holloway of Evolve Media

Wow, has the year flown by!  It is already time for the last AdClub Speaker Meeting of the year and we have the honor of welcoming back a former AdClub President!

Lucy Holloway, an Account Executive at Evolve Media, will speak about the differences between the agency side and the publisher side of the media business.  Evolve Media is an integrated digital media company focused on vertical publishing, advertising sales, and marketing services for its clients.  The firm has more than 20 offices in 7 countries and currently employs more than 400 people globally.  Evolve Media’s mission is to produce and monetize premium digital content, offering programs to online marketers that deliver “Content, Context, and Creative with Scale.”

We will be meeting in MLC room 267 at 7:30pm on Tuesday.  This is your last chance to get your AdClub Speaker Meeting Fix until next year and of course it is a great opportunity to learn about the industry from an expert, so we better see you there!

Special Event Meeting: Crafting Your Message in a Crisis

As part of Grady’s Crisis Communications Week, join AdClub, NABJ and NPPA Tuesday night at 6:30pm in MLC room 171 for a special interactive simulation:  Crafting Your Message in a Crisis.

This event, presented by Hearst visiting professionals Peter Macias and Jonathan Aiken of the American Red Cross, will spotlight how professionals respond to crisis scenarios and how students can prepare themselves for such events in their future careers.  The event will be filmed by a television crew from WUGA so feel free to show off your stylish side for the cameras.  Also, since the meeting has been moved to 6:30pm, free refreshments will be served and this speaker meeting will count for 20 AdClub points.  So, if you’re trying to make it to Gold Member status to attend the AdClub banquet on April 16th, this is the perfect opportunity for you to do so!

Speaker Meeting 3/19: Olivia McKinsey of The Partnership

Welcome back from spring break! AdClub is jumping right back into the swing of things with our next speaker meeting this Tuesday night. Joining us will be Olivia McKinsey, VP, Digital Director at The Partnership, an agency in Atlanta that specializes in digital marketing and advertising. Olivia has been working in the interactive industry for 10 years, including stints at BKV and Moxie Interactive. Her past clients include Verizon Wireless, Coca-Cola and Weather.com. She won an OMMA Magazine “Rising Media Star” award in 2005, and has served as a panelist on emerging media for the American Marketing Association (AMA) and Word of Mouth Marketing Association (WOMMA).

AdClub is hosting a Percentage Night on Wednesday, March 6th from 5-10pm at the Your Pie Five Points location (located on Lumpkin Street next to Subway).

Speaker Meeting 2/26: BBDO Atlanta

Join us this evening for our next Speaker Meeting which features Megan Sovern, Senior Copywriter and Ted Harbourt, Senior Art Director for BBDO Atlanta.  This creative couple has exemplified BBDO’s motto, “The Work, The Work, The Work” by creating memorable ads for a variety of clients.  We can tell you from our experience with them from the Agency Tour last fall that this is one meeting you do not want to miss!  Come hear all about their experiences as creatives on Tuesday night at 7:30pm in MLC room 267.
